Recently, the official website of Murata Production Institute announced that it would close two subsidiaries of Saitama Murata Production Institute.

According to the announcement, Murata has closed its overseas subsidiary in Taiwan, China, Huacheng Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huacheng Electronics") on January 31 this year, and will make a decision on its Japanese subsidiary, COILTEC, on April 30.

The announcement pointed out that Saitama Murata Manufacturing Institute Group helped the development of the communication market mainly through the development and production of coil products. However, with the diversification of smartphone market demand in major markets, and the acceleration of product development cycle and the intensification of competition with overseas manufacturers, the Group's business environment is becoming increasingly severe.

It is understood that Huacheng Electronics Co., Ltd., located in Taiwan, China,  is specialized in manufacturing electronic parts such as high-performance transformers, coils, power supplies, metal shells and computer peripheral products. As the overall planning company of the factory, Huacheng Electronics has always assumed the responsibility of operation and management.

COILTEC, located in Japan, is responsible for the design, production, sales, development support and testing of coil products and other production equipment. In the future, COILTEC's business will be taken over by Saitama Murata Production.

In Murata's view, the closing of the above two strongholds is expected to have a very limited impact on the company's performance this year.
